Makayla turned 6 on the 20th of April. She got the best birthday present ever. Dave came home from Denmark on her birthday for a surprise. He was over there for work and then got stranded because of the volcano that erupted. He was going to miss her birthday, but then at the last minute they found a flight in Norway that they could get on, so he made it home in the middle of the night before her birthday. When she woke up on her birthday she had her daddy home!! She said it was the best birthday present ever. She loves her dad so much!! We did have a family party without him though. Sad, but she had a lot of fun. The kids played outside and we opened presents and ate Rainbow Cake. She loved all the attention and loved having all her cousins there.

Baby #5 is on it's way and it's a boy. Saying that we are excited is an understatement!! Not that we don't love our girls and we would love to have more girls, but we were so hoping that we would have another boy. Seth has seriously been praying since after Makayla was born that he would have a little brother. And when we found out Bryn and Tay were girls he cried because they were girls, but was happy to have another sister. He was so sweet. This time around from the very beginning Makayla kept saying " I just know it's a boy, I just know it!!" When we told them yesterday they were jumping all over the house and ecstatic. Makayla said "I knew it!!" Seth said, "This is the first time I haven't had to cry!" Brynley said, "Can we call him Buddy?" So cute. I have been pretty sick with this one. That would be the reason for the lack of posts. This week I am 20 weeks along and am actually feeling better. Halfway done. Time flies! August will be here before I know it. I finally feel like blogging a little and have posted a lot of what we have been up to for the month of March. January and February have been survival months for me. I have been doing the regular stuff to make it through each day and nothing much else. We have had a lot of lazy days and weekends filled with family time. Dave has been wonderful with helping out with so much. He is so great with cleaning and taking care of the kids. I am excited that spring is here and that I am feeling better!!

It's Great to be 8

Seth got baptized this last weekend. I seriously can't believe that I have an 8 year old. Crazy! It was a beautiful day filled with the spirit and lots of family and friends. Seth was very excited for the day and Makayla was his little cheerleader the whole time. She was so excited for him and wanted to be a part of everything. Seth asked Makayla and Brynley to sing I am a Child of God at his baptism. They did such a cute job. We had everyone over for lunch afterwards and it was so nice to sit and visit with everyone. It turned out to be a great day!!

First Day of Spring

Every year on the first day of Spring the Roberts side of the family gets together and has an Egg Hunt and eats a spring lunch. The kids love the Egg Hunt and have so much fun running around finding eggs. We always have a great lunch and love being together talking.

Cub Scouts

Seth started scouts this month. He is SO excited. Dave is too! ( I can't tell if Dave is more excited or Seth sometimes) Seth completed his Bobcat in one afternoon and will be a Wolf in about another month. He asks me on an almost daily basis what he can pass off today for scouts. Dave has him earning belt loops and pins and is doing lots of scouting with him too. It is fun to watch my 2 boys doing so many things together that they both love. Seth looks so cute in his scout uniform. He has his first pack meeting this week and will be receiving his Bobcat award, 2 belt loops and 1 or 2 beads. I am so proud of Seth for already working so hard. Hopefully he keeps it up. :)

Birthday Bliss

The month of March brings birthdays for Seth on the 15th and Dave on the 23rd. Seth turned 8 and Dave turned 32. Wow! Seth had a swimming party with some friends and a cousin on a very snowy day. The kids thought it was fun to go swimming when it was snowing very hard outside. Seth requested a turtle cake, so I made him a turtle cupcake cake. It was fun. We had combined parties for Seth and Dave with the families. On Dave's actual birthday by his request I made him a Mandarin Orange cake and we celebrated with the kids at home. We love parties!

Dave and the kids went sledding the other day and then they made a whole family of snowmen. I think they are so cute. We love living across the street from a school that has a great sledding hill for the kids. The mountains in the background are gorgeous. I still need to post some pics from the holidays. I'll get caught up sometime later this week. The kids are back in school and I can get back to my routine.

This is Taylor's favorite place to play. It also happens to be my tupperware cupboard. I have stopped cleaning it and organizing until she gets over her fascination with pulling everything out, throwing it all over the floor and then climbing inside. She does this whenever I am in the kitchen cooking, cleaning, doing projects etc. So, she does this over and over all day long. It makes her so happy. So, for now I take 10 minutes to find a matching container and lid and let her have her fun. Gotta love this age.

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. We seriously wore our costumes about 6 times. We threw a great Halloween party this year, and then had fun going to school parties and parades, family parties, Trunk or Treat, Halloween piano recital, and Trick or Treating for the Grand Finale! The kids were so cute and loved to be in costume, but we are definitely ready to put the costumes away. Makayla was Bat Girl. Seth was Zorro. Brynley was a Princess Witch. Taylor was the cutest Lil' Punkin'. Dave was a Wizard and I was a Witch. What a crazy and fun holiday.

Carving Pumpkins!

Carving pumpkins is always one of my favorite things to do. We had our sweet neighbor Florence over to help and watch us carve our pumpkins this year. Makayla and Seth carved theirs alone. It took forever, but it was very entertaining to watch them try and cut out the different pieces. Dave is our awesome gutter! He cleans out all the guts for us and then we can carve. We only had one teeny tiny pumpkin grow in our garden this year. Brynley chose to carve that one. Hers is the little speck in the middle of this picture. I think it's so funny.

Fall Happenings

We love the fall time of year around our house. There is always something fun going on. We went to "Wee Witches Night Out" at Gardner Village and had so much fun. The kids love to dance on the stage and walk around and see all the funny witches. We also go to Engh Gardens each year and play in the hay bale maze, and pirate ship. And, of course, my favorite, take pictures with all the cute pumpkins and Halloween decoration they have all over. Soon we'll be carving pumpkins and trick or treating!! So much fun!

Seth started 2nd grade last week and today was Makayla's first day of Kindergarten. They are both so excited to be back in school. It's crazy to have 2 kids in school already! The lazy days of summer are over. I was not quite ready for school to start this year. Summer flew by way too fast. But Seth and Kayla love school so it makes starting back up very easy. I do miss my kids while they are gone. It will be fun to have time with my little girls all to myself at home for a couple hours each day. It is definitely the hardest on Brynley. She misses Seth and Makayla. I'm going to have to plan some fun things to do with her. It's so easy with just 2 at home. Weird. Life is always changing. . . . AND I love each new phase and change!

Zions Get-away

A couple of weeks ago Dave and I went on a weekend get away to Zions National Park. We had a great time! 3 days alone was not enough this time. We did a ton of hiking. It was so much fun to just be outdoors with each other and hike beautiful mountains and CLIFFS!! We hiked Angels Landing and boy was that awesome. I will admit I did have a few "moments" when I had to stop and make myself breathe because it is so high. Physically, it was not hard for me, but mentally it was. I'm not afraid of heights, but there was something so terrifying about climbing up sheer cliffs and hanging on to chains at some parts for your dear life. It is something that I will never forget. Some other hikes that are at the top of our list are Crystal Falls, Weeping Rock and The Narrows. It was so great to be together and enjoy God's beautiful creations. Thanks Mandy for watching the kids. You are wonderful!

Makayla got her ears pierced last week. She asked me all on her own if she could get them pierced. Dave and I decided a long time ago that we would let our girls get their ears pierced when they asked and were serious about it. I told her all the details and didn't sugar coat it or anything. I also showed her a bunch of pictures on the internet of what it would be like. So, after she told me that she she was ready we went and she was so brave. She sat on my lap and didn't even seem scared. She keeps telling everyone that, "I didn't cry-not even one speck or sparkle!" I love it. She picked out her own earrings and LOVES them. What a cutie!

My little Brynley Bug is such a cute girl. She is such a teaser these days. She loves to make everyone laugh. I love watching her personality become her own. She is so much fun. She is way into changing her clothes a million times a day. And usually has something on inside out or backwards or both. My favorite is when she comes out with her swimsuit on inside out and backwards. Hilarious! I just love this little girl.

Milk. . .Does a Body Good???

Poor Taylor is allergic to milk and eggs!!! We took her in for allergy testing yesterday and she had pretty bad reactions to milk, eggs, and cat. She has been having reactions to a lot of different things since she was born and we haven't been able to figure it out. She has really sensitive skin to begin with. She breaks out in rashes and hives daily because her skin has touched something weird. Over the last month as she has been tasting regular foods a little bit she has been having worse reactions. She has a reaction to most baby formulas. Finally the last straw was trying little bits of cheese and breaking out in hives when it touched her skin. And then she tried a few bites of yogurt and threw up 15 minutes later. Poor Baby! She is such a sweet little thing. She was so good at the testing. She was just smiling and laughing and so happy the whole time. She went very still and just laid her head down on Dave's shoulder when they were pricking her. Hopefully she will grow out of it. Until then, I have to learn how to cook without eggs and milk. I have been doing my research, but any tips and suggestions would be awesome!

Last week Ben & Jessica got married in the Bountiful temple. It was such a beautiful day. We had so much fun with all the family. The kids had a blast with all their cousins!

We had a great time at Makayla's Princess Ball for her 5th birthday. We had a potluck dinner, dancing and games. It was so much fun to plan and decorate for this event. We had it at the church in the gym. Almost everyone that came dressed up. It was a blast!! Makayla was in heaven the whole night. She got spoiled rotten with many wonderful gifts. We had a great time last month celebrating birthdays! Seth had an awesome cowboy party with a few friends from school. We had some bandits (aka Uncle Ben & Daniel) come crash the party and steal a birthday gift. The boys had to follow the bandits on a treasure hunt. They followed a map the bandits left behind and on the way collected stolen goods and finally found the big stolen gift at the end. They all had a great time. Seth got his first camping sleeping bag. He is so excited to try it out camping this summer. We also had some family parties that were a lot of fun too! We celebrated Dave's birthday with a family dinner at home and then on a different night we went to Johnny Carino's with our parents. It was wonderful to sit and talk with them and enjoy some great food!

Dave, Seth and Makayla went on a trip to Texas with Mom and Dad Roberts to visit the Zimmerman Fam! They drove straight there for 24 hours and played for a couple days, went to Joey's baptism and then drove straight home for another 20 plus hours. Seth and Makayla had a great time. They played like crazy the whole time. They have been talking non-stop about how much fun they had. We love our cousins! Thanks Zim's for letting us come and visit. We miss you guys!

Seth got an award last week for Excellence in Spelling. Seth was surprised to get an award and surprised to see us at his school. He was so cute. He kept turning around from where he was sitting on the floor and waving to us in the back and blowing us kisses. I wonder how many more years that will happen? The girls were so excited to go and see him at his school! They can't wait to go to a big school just like Seth.

My sister Melissa left on a mission to Brazil today. She left from the SL airport this morning and is on her way to the MTC in Brazil. We are so excited for her. It was hard to let her go. She will be a wonderful missionary and greatly missed here at home. See ya in 18months!!

Christmas Day

Christmas morning was magical. The kids were so excited and sweet all morning long as we opened gifts. Later in the day we went and visited families. We ate food, played games, relaxed and visited. It was a wonderful day full of family and love.

Christmas Eve

We had a blast Christmas Eve this year!In the afternoon we went and visited our families and then we came home. It was the first year that we stayed home and did our own Christmas Eve with the kids. We started some new traditions and the kids loved it! We made such great memories and loved spending time with our little ones. We pretended to go on a cruise to the Islands. We first boarded the cruise ship (with Dave as the captain and me as the cook) and had dinner at the buffet table. Then we decided to take an excursion to the Fiji Islands (where Dave served his mission). On our excursion we played some balloon volleyball, went fishing for the symbols of Christmas and decorated a tree with the symbols we found, and we danced to island music. During our excursion an angel appeared to us (Dave with a white blanket) and told us that Jesus had been born and we would find him in Bethlehem. Well, the captain and the cook decided that they wanted to stay in Fiji and keep having fun but the kids wanted to go and see Jesus. We tried to talk them into staying on the island, but Makayla and Seth got VERY upset and decided they wanted to go and see their best friend Jesus. We ended up going to Bethlehem and finding baby Jesus lying in a manger with shepherd's and wise men worshipping him. We then ended with the story of our Savior's birth. It truly was amazing to watch Seth and Makayla stand up to us (their parents in character as captain and cook) and tell us that they wanted to go see Jesus and not play anymore. Dave and I had tears in our eyes as we listened to our 6 year old and 4 year old tell us all about Jesus and why we should go and see Him. They told us with such passion. I was completely amazed at their litte testimonies and the love they already have for their Savior.

Going Bananas!

I made 6 batches of Banana bread yesterday. At the end of the night I had 22 mini loaves and 36 muffins. We gave some away and ate some and now I am freezing most of it for later. I was going to make all this for some of our neighbors, but we ended up baking a couple different kinds of cookies the other night that we gave out instead. Whenever it snows I feel like baking. . .a lot. I love the cozy feeling in the house when something is baking in the oven. The kids love it too. Makayla always helps me and she loves it. Brynley comes in an out to sample whatever goes in and then comes out of the oven, and Seth follows his nose to the kitchen to find what is cooling on the counter. Such fun times my little ones!

ZOO Lights

Zoo Lights this year was so much fun! Dave's parents take us out to do something with them for our Christmas gift. We went to dinner and then to Zoo Lights at the Hogle Zoo. It is such a great gift! The kids were so excited to go. They talked about it all day long. The lights were better this year than they were last year. I love walking around in the cold and looking at lights. We had a wonderful time with Mom and Dad. Thanks for the Christmas gift!!

I love the rain. Growing up I spent many nights with my mom on the porch wrapped up in a blanket watching the thunder, lightning, and rain. Rain gives me a calm peaceful feeling. It reminds me of my mom.The smell of rain is one of my most favorite smells. I snapped this picture the other day while I was outside watching a storm on my front porch. Seth and Makayla were at school and Brynley and Taylor were napping. I sat alone and watched the beautiful rain remembering those times when I was a little girl with my mom. Thanks mom for sharing rainy moments with me.

Quick Trip

We took a quick trip up to Rexburg, Idaho last weekend to visit my sister Mandy for her 20th birthday. The kids have been so excited to see what "college" is like. They now think that college is all about sleepovers, playing games and hanging out with cool guys and girls all night long. Seth and Makayla got to sleep at Mandy's apartment with her roommates. Dave, Brynley, Taylor and I slept at a hotel close by. Seth and Makayla were in heaven with Mandy and her roommates. They were bouncing off the walls late into the night and then right back at it early the next morning! One of the highlights was walking around a beautiful park with a TON of ducks. We fed them some bread and it was hilarious to watch the ducks attack when the bread came out. Makayla was terrified and ran to the stroller and quickly started throwing her bread as fast as she could to the ducks. Dave held Brynley up as high as he could and Seth took off running with bread in his hands and ducks following after him. Mandy stood in the middle of most of the ducks and kept throwing bread down as fast as she could. I ran around taking pictures of the whole thing. Too funny! Thanks Mandy for letting us come and visit!!

Halloween Happenings!

We had a great time at Halloween this year. We went and visited the grandparents, went to a trunk or treat and then went and did some door to door trick or treating in our neighborhood. The kids loved it! Brynley got the hang of it this year. She was so cute running as fast as she could to the door and yelling "Chick ur Cheeeeat" and then saying "Fank you sooo much". After each house she would run back and say "I love it, I love it!!" Seth and Makayla came home and dumped their loot out on the table to see who got the most. We had a great time with our own little family this year. It took me back to the days when I was little and went trick or treating. My dad would stand at the curb or the end of the driveway while I would run to the door with my brothers and then we would run back to dad and go on to the next house. This year it was Dave and I at the curb and our little kids running to us. What an awesome feeling. I love seeing the excitement and joy in my kids eyes. There is nothing better than being a mom!

Dinnertime at my house usually ends up in a little bit of chaos. It begins while I'm making the dinner. My children are very sweet and wonderful and just being kids, but the time right before dinner is the hardest part of my day. I start making dinner and the kids begin to swarm my legs and destroy the house while asking questions like "When we are going to eat?" "What's for dinner?" "Do I have to eat that?""When is dad going to be home?" "Can we listen to music?" "Can I help?" "Mom will you help me with this?" "Why is it taking so long?" etc etc etc Then I finish dinner and we wait for Dave to get home. I try to keep them busy and entertained and out of the kitchen and the food. Dave walks in the door and the kids are SO excited to see him. He changes his clothes and we all sit down to eat. After dinner the kids usually carry their dishes to the counter by the sink and run off to play. Dave will clear a little of the dinner stuff and then he has to leave for meetings or he goes and plays with the kids (because they need his attention more than I need him doing dishes) and I clean up the kitchen all by myself. Well, last night Seth finished his food first (which is amazing and only happens rarely because he is such a picky eater). He took his dish to the sink and then came back over and started asking everyone what dishes they were finished with. He then started clearing the used dishes and then rinsing them in the sink. I started praising him and thanking him so much for helping with the other dishes. (I've done this before, but he just says "your welcome!" and leaves after he finishes his own dish) Makayla picked up on it and before I knew it the whole table was cleared and counters were cleared of all dirty dishes and dinner was cleaned up! I didn't even help or get up from the table. It was like magic. It happened so fast. I loved it. It made my day. My kids are so sweet. The best part was going to the sink after they were done and looking at all the dishes stacked clear up to the top of the sink and hanging over the edge of the one sink into the other. So cute to see them work together to do something for me because they knew it made me happy. I have the best kids ever!!

I love the fall weather. I really love going outside and enjoying the crisp air. This is my favorite time of year. We have been doing some fun Halloween activities. Here are just a few of the pictures I have taken.

We went the the "Crazy Corn Maze" in West Jordan. The kids had a blast running around trying to find all the checkpoints. It was perfect weather and a perfect family night activity for out little fam. Thanks Daniel for coming along. The kids always love you to come with us!

My sister Melanie came and stayed over night over UEA/Fall Break and we decided to go and visit Engh gardens. The kids love the pirate ship and the Hay Bale Maze that they have this time of year. I love all the picture opportunities by the pumpkins.

We visit Gardner Village every year to see all the fun witches. Well, this year we went on a Friday night when Dave could come and we ended being there on the night they were having "Little Withches Night Out." It was a blast. They had a parade for the kids to be in and music for dancing and food and little activities you could do. We had so much fun together.

I just got done putting Makayla to bed. Usually Dave puts her to bed because I am with Taylor. Tonight Dave was at a meeting and I got to put Makayla to sleep. I just sat with her and tickled her back and face and watched my beautiful little girl fall asleep. What sweet moments. I love the quiet times when I can just sit and enjoy them alone. I walk away from these times and my love grows even more than I thought was possible. I thank my father in heaven everyday for giving me these beautful spirits. I am one lucky mom!

Dave blessed Taylor this last Sunday. What a beautiful day! Everything turned out perfect. We had so many family members come and spend the day with us. They all came over to our house after for lunch and we got to visit and play games all day. Taylor was happy all day and was so good. I love my sweet babies.

Seth loves to play with Dave. The minute Dave walks in the door from work Seth already has planned what they are going to do together for the evening. Last Saturday Seth wanted to play hockey so Dave and him had a great little game out on the driveway. Makayla wanted to play too so she was on Seth's team. Seth was very serious about keeping score and I think he won. Seth is still trying to master rollerblading while holding a hockey stick and chasing the ball, but he definitely held his own. He kept falling and almost falling, but would jump right back up and tell us he was just fine and then take off after the ball. He wants to be just like Dave.
I love watching Dave play with the kids. It is one of my favorite things to do. There is nothing in this world like watching a father play with his children. My kids come alive in a way that is different from when they play with me. I love the laughter and the smiles that Dave brings into our home. I don't know what I would do without him. He is a wonderful father and friend to 4 little people that love him more than anything!!

Day at the Zoo

Last weekend two of my sisters, Melissa and Melanie, came with us to the Zoo. We had a great time. The kids loved all of it as always. The weather was perfect. Overcast and not hot. There were not very many people because of the hovering rain clouds, so it was nice to walk around.

Our cute Taylor is 6 weeks old. She is starting to smile so much. Her sweet little face broke out in baby zits over the last couple of weeks so her face has been really red. It's finally starting to clear up. She is sleeping for about 6 hours each night (most of the time) and is such a good baby!

Last Saturday Dave and I (and Taylor) went to the Colors concert at the Sandy Amphitheatre for a date. It was a perfect night for a concert outside. We had so much fun! It took us back to times when we were dating. We were laughing and singing the whole time. Colors are awesome, and we love their music. It was such a great concert. I love dates with my cute husband!!! Thanks Babe for taking me out!!

State Fair!!

We have once again conquered the Utah State Fair. As we were driving down to the fairgrounds Dave turned to me in the car and said, "Are you ready to do this with 4 little kids?" Then I turned to him and asked him the same question. We both kinda laughed and kept on driving. We always go to the fair on opening day because it is only $2.00 for people 6 years old and up, compared to like $6.oo a person on other days. We had a great time. The kids really liked the animals as always. They learned the difference between milk cows and beef cows this year. Body parts are a big deal at their age right now and they noticed a huge difference in the cows with large udders and the cows without. So, we had a little explaining to do while walking past the milk cows and staring at their lovely backsides and bursting udders!
Seth really like the lego entries that were on display and wants to enter one of his creations next year. Seth and Makayla both liked the goat that was all loaded up with a huge pack to show how much weight they can carry. The goat had huge horns! Makayla kept wondering where the horses were, so we went and watched some of the rodeo and she LOVED it! She gets this dazed look in her eyes whenever she sees horses. I know she is off in dream world imagining herself as a cowgirl. (Because that is what she is going to be when she grows up). Brynley was scared of the cows and the pigs. She liked them when she was being held by Dave or riding on the stroller. She loved the balloons and birds. Taylor was an angel the whole time. She peacefully slept and had no idea we were even at the fair. She woke up to eat right on time when we were loading into the car to leave for the night. Dave and I always love the great people watching opputunities there are. I love how different we all are. It makes for great entertainment. This world would be very boring if we were all the same. Maybe next year I will get some tatoos, black out a tooth or two, wear almost no clothing, and throw on a cowboy hat?!?

Makayla started her first season of soccer. She has been waiting to play ever since Seth started playing 2 years ago. She has been so excited to finally have her own team to play on. She is one of the shortest girls out there, but runs her little legs off trying to keep up with everyone. I love her uniform. Her shirt could be a dress! She loves to kick off during the game whenever a goal is scored, so the coach lets her do it most of the time. Here is a little video of her kicking off after a goal has been scored! She is #8.

Seth started coach pitch baseball this week. He loves it. It's so much fun to watch him play. Dave is very proud of his little boy because he is one of the best on his team. (mom is proud too :) ) He has games on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next couple of weeks.
This is a little clip of Seth at his first game. He was first up to bat in the first game of the season, so it was a little confusing to him about how many bases he could run. (They are only supposed to run one base per hit) He almost had a home run his first hit!! LOL! So cute.

Well, my little boy went to school all day yesterday for the first time. He was so excited. The girls and I walked him to where he lines up with the kids and we watched him walk into school when the bell rang. Seth was so sweet about me taking pictures of him. He told me I could take as many pictures as I wanted to of him even when his friends were there because he knew I like to take pictures and then I could look at them while he was gone! (so cute) He came home from school and told me that he didn't even think of me once!!!! (I almost cried. . .) I told him that was great because then it meant that he loved it and had lots of fun. (sniff, sniff) Then I asked him if he thought of me when he read the note that I sent to him in his lunch. He said, "Oh yeah, for a second I thought of you and then I forgot again." (that comment made me feel a little better :) ) He loved his first day and was excited to go again today.

Taylor is such a good little baby. She is already sleeping for about a 5 hour stretch at night. She eats like a champ and hardly cries. She loves to look at our faces and smiles in her sleep all the time. I took her to the doctor for her 2 week check yesterday and she weighs 9lbs 2oz. She is doing great!! We are so blessed to have such a healthy cute baby in our home!

My Little Girl is Growing Up!!
Well, the day after Taylor was born Makayla started preschool. (Too many changes in just a few days!!) I was so sad that I could not take her to school for her first day. Dave got to take her and she was so excited to go with Daddy. I was torn between my sweet little baby in the hospital and my 1st little girl going to school without me there to see her off. She loves preschool and has so much fun. She acts more grown up each day. She loves to play with Alex at school. Makayla came home from her 2nd day of school and told me that a boy in her class would not let her play with the castle so she went and played with her best friend Alex because "Alex loves me all the time!" So cute. Thanks Alex for loving my Makayla!!
Makayla also loves that she has started school before Seth. Seth starts 1st grade in 2 weeks. I can't believe it!! I don't think I want to give him up for the whole day. My kids are growing up to fast!

Taylor Hope Roberts. . . .
She was born on August 4th @ 3:52 pm. She weighed 8 lbs. 10 oz and was 21 inches long!! She is a wonderful, sweet baby! The kids just adore her and can't get enough. They want to hold her all the time and help me with everything. Here are a few pics. More will come later when I have more time.

Almost Done!

Well, many of you know that we have been remodeling our basement for about a year and a half now. We had to gut the whole thing and move everything upstairs. We have redone all the plumbing and electrical, moved walls, installed a new furnace and A/C, put in new windows, treated for termites, run new air ducts, insulated, hired out the sheet rocking, painted everything ourselves, hung new doors, and put up trim, and moldings. The kids have all been sharing one of the bedrooms upstairs the whole time and then the computers, toys, food storage, craft stuff etc. has been in one room and then in my bedroom we have had more food storage and household storage around the walls. Everything else has been in the shed outside. CRAZY!! We have been packed in tight for a long time. But, now we are almost finished. Carpet comes tomorrow!!!! We are so excited!! After carpet we can move back downstairs this weekend!! The kids are so excited for their new rooms, new bathroom and new family room/toy room under the stairs. I love my new laundry room, many storage closets and large storage room. Dave is excited for his new computer nook, and surround sound he did in the family room. Dave has worked so hard to finish before the baby comes. He is a wonderful husband!!! I am so blessed to have him. Thanks babe for giving up so much sleep, play time and carrying so much stress for so long! You have done a beautiful job. I love you!

Camping in the Uintah Mountains

Last Thursday-Saturday Dave and his Dad, Bliss, took Seth and Makayla camping in the Uintah Mountains by Cliff Lake. They hiked in about a mile and found a beautiful spot. Dave invited a bunch of his friends from his scout troop that he was part of growing up. A lot of them ended up coming and bringing their kids too. Dave's brothers Ben and Daniel went also with some friends. There was quite a group of them.
Seth and Makayla had so much fun fishing and hiking. They love to go camping with Dave.

Water Party

Brynley loves to be outside and in the water, so we had a water party in our backyard for her birthday. We have the perfect little hill on the side of our yard for a slip n' slide, so we set it up. It was so much fun. We had some little pools for the littler ones to play in too. Bryn also loves shoes, so I made her a pair of flip flops for her cake. She was so excited when I was decorating it. She kept saying, "So cute mommy! So cute! I like it!" Then she would give me a big hug and jump up and down all excited. She definitely got spoiled by all the cute gifts and attention. I love seeing how excited they are for birthdays-when they finally get what's going on!

Our sweet baby is turning 2 today!! She is such a fun little girl to have in our home! She is the peacemaker-even at 2. She is always worried about Seth and Makayla and tries to make them better when they are sad or hurt. She loves to dance and sing. She loves her naptime. She gives the best hugs and kisses. She loves to play with Seth and Makayla and do whatever they are doing. Her favorite thing lately is playing in the water outside.

A Visit From the Tooth Fairy

It was a big night at our house last night. Seth finally wiggled his first loose tooth out of his mouth. It has seriously been loose for about 4 months. He just kept taking his time wiggling little by little so it wouldn't hurt. (It about drove me crazy-it took so long.) He was so excited when it finally came out!! He ran around the house jumping and laughing. He put the tooth under his pillow with a cute note to the tooth fairy that said, "Tooth Fairy, please don't take my tooth, but please leave me some money. Love, Seth" He came into our room at around 4 am and woke me up. He was so cute all sleepy eyed and excited at 4 am to find money from the tooth fairy under his pillow. And the best part. . .the tooth was still there!! :) Moments like these send me back to when I was little and was loosing my teeth. It was so exciting and fun. It is so awesome to share little happy moments like this with my kids! It's also just one more reminder of how fast my little boy is growing up, and it makes me kinda sad.

Skycoaster for a 6 year old???

When we went to Lagoon a couple of weeks ago the power went out for a couple of hours while we were there, so the park said we could come back another day before the end of June for free. So, Dave and Seth went back and Dave took a bunch of his YM with the tickets that his co-workers were not going to use. Towards the end of the night after Seth had rode on almost every big ride that he could they went over to the Skycoaster where Dave's brother Ben and some of the YM were in line to go. Seth asked Dave if he could go. Dave wanted to try it and thought he might as well check the height restrictions to see if Seth could go too. Seth passed. You have to be 46 inches tall to ride and Seth is 46 inches tall. So, they decided to go. Now, I'm pretty sure that if I had been there Seth would not have gone. He is 6 years old!!!! I went on it a couple of times when I was in High School and every time I was terrified. I can't imagine what went through my little boys head (or my husband's for that matter). Anyway, they obviously survived and Seth thought it was the "wicked coolest" ride ever!! Seth called me after they had gone to tell me they had done it and he said that he didn't even scream. (I thought yeah you didn't scream because you were too terrified) Dave said that when they were at the top (about 140ft in the air) getting ready to be dropped he asked Seth if he was scared and Seth said "NO. . . . .well maybe a little." Then they pulled the cord and sailed toward the ground at speeds up to 80 mps. When they get almost to the bottom the cables they are hooked to swing them like they are gliding through the air on a hang glider or like skydiving. They loved it.
What an adventure for my boys. Seth will never forget this ride, and for the rest of his life he can brag to people that he did it when he was 6 years old and survived!!!!

Short and Sweet

Bradden, Sunny and Hyrum Cannon came to visit us a week ago. We had a very fun, short visit with them. Hyrum is so cute. It was so great to sit and talk with Bradden and Sunny for a while. Moab Scout Camp!

Dave got back from a really fun scout camp in Moab a week ago. He's been Young Men President for the last couple years and has planned wonderful camps for the boys, but this one topped it off. They were in Moab for 4 days. They biked Slick Rock and Gemini Bridges and also went on a couple hikes. They went swimming and site seeing and hung out in town. The boys loved every minute of it. About 10 days before this camp Dave was released as Ym Pres and put into the Bishopric, so this camp was a great ending for him and the guys. Thanks for all you do Dave-these young men love you!!

Makayla cut her own hair yesterday!! My sister-in-law Kalee fixed it this morning. She now has cute short hair just a little above her shoulders. It was bound to happen sooner or later. She has had beautiful, long, thick hair for so long. Oh well. . . .It always grows back. She was pretty traumatized after it happened yesterday. She is okay today after we fixed it. It is darling short! I will post pics later when I have more time!

Lagoon Day!

Last Saturday we went to Lagoon with Dave's company. We had so much fun. I love riding all the rides, but couldn't because I am pregnant, so I was a little bit jealous of Dave who got to go on all the rides. Oh well, there is always next time!! Seth loved the big rides. He cleared the height restrictions by barely an inch. He rode the White Roller Coater, Collossus (twice, and in the very front both times), The Bat, Tidal Wave, The Spider, and Wild Mouse. He also rode all the littler rides with the girls. Makayla and Brynley loved all the little rides. Brynley would raise her hands up above her head and scream. It was so cute. She is not even 2 and would get so mad when Seth and Makayla would ride and she couldn't. Makayla loved going on rides all by herself. We were all dead by the end of the night. The kids were asleep before we pulled out of the parking lot. I had a great time watching them laugh and run from ride to ride all day long. There is nothing better than happy kids.

Bike Fun

A couple of weeks ago Dave and I found this practically brand new bike trailer for the kids at a garage sale down the street. We are so excited! The kids love it. It is so much fun to see how happy they get! After this baby is born I think I'll take the kids on a ride.

The first time they went out Seth rode his bike and the second time he wanted to try out the bike trailer so Dave put Bryn in the pack and loaded the trailer up with Seth and Makayla. I teased him that he looked like a circus act!

Daddy Daughter Campout!!

When Dave and Seth got home from the Father and Sons camp the other weekend, Makayla was very upset that she wasn't able to go. She told Dave that the next camp would be for girls and dads ONLY!! So, Dave planned a Dadddy Daughter camp out for her with the girl cousins and dads. Only the Zimmerman's could go, but they had a blast. Dave and Mike took the girls on a little hike (about a 10 minute walk) up a small hill and the girls thought it was the longest and hardest hike ever. When they got to the top of the hill they thought they were on the biggest mountain they had ever seen. So funny! Makayla loved the "smarshshmallows" and bisquits with honey butter. She came home telling me that she smelled like the "camp fired". The Zimmerman's have horses by their house, so before they came home she got to go and feed the horses some carrots. She loves horses so this made her camping experience even better. Most of all she loves to spend time with Dave and loved being with only her daddy on this little overnight camp out!

Kindergarten is Over!!

One of Seth's last days of school was spent going on a Field Trip the Thanksgiving Point. I went along and helped. After the farm tour at Thanksgiving Point we all went to a park to play and eat lunch. The coolest part for Seth was riding on a big yellow school bus and taking a sack lunch to eat!! I can't believe Kindergarten is over. Crazy!

Father and Sons Campout

Another Soccer Season Has Ended!

Seth loved soccer this season. Their team name was the Lightning Bugs! So cute. He made a couple goals and loved defense. He was one of the stars on his team! One of his favorite parts of playing soccer is the cool trophy you get at the end of the season! Good job Seth!

Salt Lake Bees Game!!

A bunch of family all went to the Bees game last Monday night. It was a little cold, but very fun. The highlight of the game was when Bliss caught a foul ball that came flying right to us. He gave it to Seth. Seth had brought his mitt to the game hoping he would be able to catch a ball. What a dream come true. Seth even went and got it signed by the mascot, Bumble!! He talks about it everyday!
